Hands resting in a ritual bath of warm water, rosemary and rose petals
The Ritual Bathing Subscription

A sacred bath for every season

Each month a seasonal bathing ritual arrives at your door, made in ceremony in the White Rose Temple in Dorset. Botanicals for the turning of the year, a crystal to walk beside you, organic tea to sip in the steam, and a written ritual to guide you home to yourself.

Your monthly return

Twelve months. Twelve baths. One you, remembered.

Life asks so much of us. This is the one appointment in your month that belongs entirely to you.

Every box follows the Celtic Wheel of the Year, so your bath moves with the land outside your window. In the dark of Samhain you bathe with rosemary for remembrance. At Beltane you bathe in rose and fire. The plants, the crystal, the tea and the ritual are chosen together in ceremony each month, listening to what the season and the collective are asking for.

Our rituals follow the sun as it turns through the Wheel of the Year. If you work with the moon, these baths weave beautifully into your moon practices and rituals too: bathe on the new moon to plant the month's intention, or keep a little of your blend aside for the full moon.

You simply run the water, light a candle, press play on your healing frequency playlist, and let yourself be held.

What is ritual bathing

A sacred return to your inner temple

Ritual bathing is one of the oldest acts of devotion we know. Our ancestors understood that to cleanse the body was also to clear the mind, the heart and the spirit, and that water met with intention becomes a living doorway.

Sacred smoke rising from a bundle of dried herbs

Ancient Egypt

Priestesses and priests bathed in sacred oils and herbs before entering the temple, purifying the energy body for communion with the divine.

An ancient holy well in a mossy Highland glade

The Celtic lands

Holy wells and springs were places of pilgrimage. People came to make offerings, to pray, and to bathe for healing in waters believed to be alive.

Sunlight rippling through clear spring water

India and Japan

Bathing in the Ganges remains a deeply spiritual act today, and in Japan the practice of misogi cleanses the spirit through immersion in cold, pure water.

Your bathroom

The lineage continues with you. A ritual bath marks a transition, honours a season, releases what is ready to go, and lets you be witnessed by the spirit of water herself.

Heal yourself. Heal the waters. Heal the world.
Water was always known to be sentient, intelligent and deeply responsive to prayer. Ritual bathing is how we remember.

Why it works

Where science and spirit meet in the water

A ritual bath works on every layer of you at once. Here is what is happening as you soak.

A woman relaxing in a warm milky bath

40°Cand softening

Your body exhales

Warm water eases tight muscles and invites the nervous system out of fight or flight and into rest and repair. A large review of sleep studies found that a warm bath of around 40 to 42.5°C, taken an hour or two before bed, helped people fall asleep around ten minutes sooner and sleep more deeply.

7layers of medicine

The plants speak to you

Scent travels straight to the oldest part of the brain, where memory and emotion live, which is why a single breath of lavender or rose can shift how you feel. Salts, flowers, oil, crystal, tea, sound and spoken word each add their own layer of medicine to the water.

Each blend is chosen in ceremony with the plant spirits

Ritual calms the mind

Researchers at Harvard found that simple rituals help people feel calmer, more in control and more able to move through grief and loss. When you light the candle, speak your intention and step into the water, your whole being knows that this time is sacred.

The water remembers

The work of Dr Masaru Emoto, Gerald Pollack, Viktor Schauberger and Veda Austin invites us to see water as liquid light, responsive to intention, frequency and feeling. As your ritual bath drains away, a blessed solution flows back into the rivers and oceans, carrying your love with it.

Your ritual, step by step

How to take your ritual bath

  1. Prepare the space

Brew your tea, dim the lights, light a candle and clear the room with your palo santo or smudge. Press play on your playlist. Set your phone far away.

  2. Bless the water

As the bath fills, hold your crystal and speak the words from your ritual card into the water. Add your ritual bath salts and swirl them through with your hand.

  3. Soak and receive

Step in slowly and stay for twenty minutes or more. Breathe, sip, drift, cry if tears come. Let the water do what she does best.

  4. Release and give thanks

As the water drains, imagine all that is ready to go flowing back to the Earth, transformed into love. Close with gratitude and rest.

A beautiful way to reconnect with myself

What makes this subscription so special is that every month feels like an invitation to come home to myself. I love the thought behind each crystal, the botanicals and the carefully chosen playlist. Some months I'm ready to release the old and embrace Rebirth; other months I need grounding, clarity or a little extra self-love. It's a beautiful surprise to receive, and my monthly bathing ritual has become something I genuinely treasure.

My favourite delivery of the month

I genuinely look forward to my Rock & Rose Ritual Bathing Kit arriving every month. It's become a little ritual in itself, knowing there's something beautiful waiting for me. I love discovering the botanicals, crystal and sacred playlist, then closing the bathroom door and giving myself some much-needed time just for me. It's the perfect reminder to slow down, reconnect and fill my own cup.

A ritual I wouldn't want to be without

I've always loved the changing seasons, so having a subscription that celebrates the Sabbats feels really special. Every kit brings a new experience, connected to the turning of the Wheel of the Year, with beautiful botanicals, a crystal and a sacred playlist. I love having something meaningful to look forward to each month. It's brought a little more intention, magic and connection into my everyday life.

It's become my non-negotiable date with myself

I used to buy all sorts of lovely things with the intention of looking after myself, then leave them sitting in a cupboard! This subscription is different because it gives me something to actually DO. I choose an evening, get the bath ready, put the sacred playlist on and let the flowers and frequencies work their magic. I love discovering the crystal in each kit and seeing what resonates with me that month. Sometimes I emerge with a head full of ideas, sometimes I just feel deliciously relaxed. Either way, I'm learning to make space for myself without feeling guilty about it. Honestly, it's one of the best things I've done for myself, and I start looking forward to the next one almost as soon as I've finished the last!

The ancient Fortingall Yew in the heart of Scotland, where the Ritual Bathing Revolution began

Where it began

Bring ritual bathing back to the people.

On Samhain 2019, in the heart of Scotland, the ancient Fortingall Yew, 5,000 years old, though some consider her much older still, gave Lisa a clear instruction: bring ritual bathing back to the people, and just create the kits. Every box since has been made in that same spirit of reverence, so that healing comes back into your own hands, person by person, bath by bath.

Pausing or cancelling

You can, anytime. Life has its own seasons. Pause for a month or more, or cancel before your next renewal date, and your ritual will wait for you.

A bath is needed

Each ritual is created for bathing, so you will need a bath to receive it fully. Our rituals are not suitable for showers.

Our ingredients

Every ingredient is natural, organic wherever possible and sustainably wildcrafted. Each blend lists its botanicals in full. Please check the list if you have any sensitivities, and speak with your midwife or doctor before using essential oils during pregnancy.

Bathing safely

Our bath salts are blended with pure essential oils, so please patch test a little on your skin first. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have sensitive skin or a health condition, speak with your midwife or doctor before you bathe. Keep the water warm and never hot, sip water as you soak, and rise slowly when you leave the bath. Never leave a burning candle, palo santo or smudge bundle unattended; use a heatproof dish, open a window, and make sure it is fully out. Keep crystals, candles and smudge out of reach of children and pets. The tea is for drinking; everything else is for the bath only.

Fresh rituals every year

Each year the Wheel turns again with fresh blends, new crystals and new teachings, so your second year deepens the first.

UK delivery only

The Ritual Bathing Subscription is available within the UK only for now. We are not yet able to deliver outside the UK; if you live further afield, email hello@rockandrose.one and we will let you know as soon as that changes.
